NYC Photography Tips: Keep Your Focus
By Douglas Gilbert
As a headshot photographer NYC, I used to spend a lot of time practicing shots with different apertures. I would then monitor the results from the lab. This was instrumental in learning how depth-of-field affects my photos. If you try it, you’ll find that a lesser depth-of-field focuses all the attention directly on your subject. This is great for taking child photography New York City and family portraits NYC because your subjects will stand out against a blurry background. Similarly, you’ll find that a bigger depth-of-field (larger f-stop number) will make everything from here to infinity appear in focus. This is great to capture landscapes. Obviously, a larger depth-of-field would not be necessary for me as a headshot photographer NYC.
